An avid performer, teacher, and reed-maker, Dr. Maja Dinger is an active oboist in the Phoenix area. She currently is the adjunct oboe instructor at Yavapai College, Paradise Valley Community College, and Scottsdale Community College. Maja is the co-principal oboist of the Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra and subs regularly with the Phoenix Symphony, Symphony of the Southwest, and the West Valley Symphony.  She judges regularly for the AMEA regional auditions, and her professional recordings of these etudes through Grand Canyon University can be found under "media." Maja has also taught music history at the collegiate level for four years. Dr. Dinger received her Bachelor’s degree in oboe performance from Eastern Illinois University, her Master’s degree in oboe performance from Northern Illinois University, and also studied in Salzburg, Austria. She completed her Doctoral degree at Arizona State University under the tutelage of Martin Schuring. When she is not making reeds or practicing, Maja enjoys playing with her dog, hiking, eating ice cream, and spending time with her family.
